Artist & Filmmaker

Jon Fitzgerald is a filmmaker, visual artist, and author of Filmmaking for Change: Make Films That Transform the World. A co-founder of the Slamdance Film Festival and former director of AFI Fest, he has spent more than three decades championing independent filmmakers and storytelling that inspires social impact.

Through SuArt Studios, Fitzgerald creates original artworks from reclaimed materials that transform discarded media into contemporary visual storytelling. The collection is connected to his film project Alchemy in Venice, with exhibitions, screenings, and a touring initiative designed to celebrate art and music while supporting sustainability, community causes, and the creative arts.
